What we build

Four things we do all day, every day.

Most carpenters do a bit of everything. We do the finish: the work you see and touch when the house is done.

A custom staircase with oak treads, white risers and white balusters7 3/4 in. rise · 10 in. run

Custom stairs

New treads and risers, railings, balusters and newel posts. Carpet to hardwood, or a staircase that becomes the center of the house.

Same room. One difference.

Framing, drywall and paint make a room. Trim makes it a home. Hold the button and watch the finish go on.

  • Tight joints. No caulk tricks.
  • Panels that line up with your doors and windows.
  • Clean cuts, and a clean house, every day.

Press and hold, or hold the space bar, until the room is finished.

FAQ

Questions people ask before they call.

How much does it cost?

Every job is different, so we quote on site, for free, with no obligation. You get a written price before any work starts, and it does not change unless you change the job.

Is my job too small?

No. A mudroom bench, one accent wall or a new handrail are normal jobs for us. Send it over.

Will the new trim match what I already have?

Yes. We match profiles, sizes and paint sheen to your existing trim, or help you pick a new one that works with the whole house.

Will my house be a mess?

We protect floors and furniture, cut outside or in a sealed area whenever we can, and clean up every day before we leave.

Do I need a designer first?

Not for most trim work. Send photos of the room and we suggest options at the visit. If you already have a designer or plans, we build from them.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Brutus Carpentry is licensed and insured in Massachusetts. Ask us for proof at the visit.

How soon can you start?

After the quote we give you a start date and stick to it. Timing depends on the job and the season, so ask when you reach out.

Do you work with builders?

Yes. We do finish packages for builders and remodelers across Massachusetts. Reach out with the plans.
